A growing Leeds-based manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and support the senior leadership team as the company continues to scale. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working close to the numbers, improving processes, and leading a small, capable team.
What you’ll be doing
*
Finance Team Leadership - Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring month-end and weekly routines run smoothly.
*
Management Accounts - Produce accurate monthly accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary for the senior team.
*
Cashflow Management - Oversee daily cashflow across multiple bank accounts, highlighting risks and opportunities.
*
Cost & Spend Control - Monitor expenditure, maintain documentation, and support cost-saving initiatives across operations.
*
Audit & Compliance - Prepare audit files, liaise with external auditors, and ensure statutory obligations are met.
*
Budgeting & Forecasting - Support the annual budgeting cycle and track performance against plan.
About you
*
Qualified Accountant - Fully qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA (or finalist with strong experience).
*
Advanced Excel Skills - Confident with complex analysis, modelling, scenario work, and large data sets.
*
Financial Control Experience gained in manufacturing, engineering, distribution, or another product-based environment.
*
Confident managing reporting cycles, improving processes, and working closely with operational teams.
*
Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and handling a broad mix of finance tasks in a growing business.
*
Strong communicator who can build relationships across production, supply chain, and leadership
