Project Manager
Location: Site Based, United Kingdom
Hours: 7am – 4pm
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Role Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for the safe, commercially successful and timely delivery of assigned projects, from estimating handover through to completion and client sign-off.
The role covers design, procurement, programme delivery, commercial performance, project governance and stakeholder management, while leading the project team, subcontractors and wider supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead estimating handovers and review project scope, specifications, ERs, commercial allowances, programme, sequencing and critical path
• Manage design development, RFIs, technical submittals, approvals and coordination with programme and procurement requirements
• Establish project risk registers, mobilisation plans, site logistics, governance processes and pre-construction documentation
• Ensure site establishment and delivery comply with CPP, HSQE, ISO, CDM, environmental, RAMS and permit requirements
• Lead the procurement of subcontractor packages and major equipment, review quotations and negotiate best-value terms
• Support valuations, cost reporting and forecasting, while managing variations, labour allocation, project margin and commercial risk
• Lead project delivery against programme milestones, monitoring progress, quality, productivity and construction activities
• Chair meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors, maintaining strong stakeholder and supply chain relationships
• Manage Assistant Project Managers, Site Managers and delivery teams, promoting collaboration, performance and development
• Ensure QA/QC procedures, certification, commissioning, testing and verification are completed and maintained
• Oversee weekly and monthly reporting, project documentation, O&M manuals, CDM H&S files, Red Pen drawings and record drawings
• Manage practical completion, final handover and client sign-off
• Support business development, tenders, strategic initiatives and wider management requirements
• Maintain industry knowledge through relevant CPD, training and industry events
• Work outside normal hours where required to support project delivery
Requirements
• Significant experience at Project Manager level
• Experience delivering complex construction or engineering projects
• Data Centre / Critical Facilities experience
• Relevant electrical qualifications
• Mechanical knowledge desirable
• SMSTS
• CSCS Managers Card
• NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management or equivalent
