The candidate would be joining a globally recognised engineering and project management consultancy that specialises in complex, high-stakes infrastructure and energy projects. Your new role
You will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring environmental performance on construction projects, ensuring activities are carried out in line with environmental standards and regulations. Similar to an Environmental Advisor, the role involves regularly checking site activities, auditing contractor compliance, and producing clear reports on environmental performance and any incidents. They act as a key point of contact on site, supporting teams and stepping in when issues arise to ensure they are properly addressed. The role requires strong construction environmental experience, with a focus on compliance monitoring, detailed reporting, and a good awareness of ecological considerations.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working on live construction sites in an environmental role
Experience checking contractor activities against environmental plans, method statements, and regulations.
Ability to carry out site inspections, document findings, and produce clear reports.
CSCS Card
Ecology awareness - understanding of environmental regulations and basic ecological principles (e.g. protected species, habitats).
A degree or qualification in environmental science, ecology, or a related field, though experience can sometimes outweigh this.
Driving Licence and Vehicle
Health & safety knowledge - familiarity with site safety standards, as environmental compliance is closely linked to H&S.
