Multiskilled Engineer
Lincolnshire
£58,830 | 4 on 4 off Days & Nights
Food doesn't magically appear on supermarket shelves. Despite what some consumers seem to believe, it takes a lot of engineering, a lot of machinery, and occasionally someone willing to crawl into places never intended for human occupation.
We're recruiting for a Multiskilled Engineer to join a large, well-invested food manufacturing site in Lincolnshire. This is a business that continues to invest heavily in its people, equipment and facilities, offering engineers the opportunity to work in a modern, fast-paced environment where engineering is genuinely valued.
The Role
You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of production and packaging equipment, ensuring the site continues to operate efficiently and safely.
This is a hands-on role where you'll spend your time fault-finding, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and driving improvements that reduce downtime and improve reliability.
No two shifts are ever quite the same. Machinery has a remarkable ability to wait until the worst possible moment before deciding it no longer wishes to cooperate.
What You'll Be Doing
Reactive and planned maintenance across manufacturing equipment
Electrical and mechanical fault finding
Supporting continuous improvement projects
Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
Root cause analysis and preventative maintenance activities
Maintaining high standards of safety and engineering compliance
What We're Looking For
Time-served engineer or relevant engineering qualifications
Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging or similar environments
Ability to work effectively under pressure
A proactive mindset and desire to improve equipment performance
What's In It For You?
Salary of £58,830
4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern
Stable, long-term opportunity with a major manufacturing business
Significant investment in engineering and site infrastructure
Genuine opportunities for progression and development
Shift Pattern
4 Days On | 4 Days Off | 4 Nights On | 4 Days Off
05:30 - 17:30 / 17:30 - 05:30
If you're the type of engineer who enjoys solving problems rather than simply reporting them, this could be worth a conversation. The machines certainly aren't going to fix themselves. They've had every opportunity and continue to show very little initiative
