About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Kirklees to recruit a Food Technology Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated practitioner to join a supportive Design & Technology department and make a positive impact on students' learning and engagement.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
Inspire students to develop practical cooking skills, nutritional understanding, and creativity
Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including departmental planning and enrichment activities
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within a practical classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for food education and nutrition
Excellent classroom management skills
A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student development
A flexible and proactive approach to teaching and learningEarly Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply and will be supported within the role.
