We're supporting a global manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an Incoming Materials Manager to lead quality performance and control of raw materials and packaging components, ensuring uninterrupted supply to manufacturing operations.
What’s the role all about?
As the Incoming Materials Manager, you'll take ownership of all incoming materials quality activities, ensuring raw materials and packaging components meet the required quality, regulatory and operational standards before entering production.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Supplier Quality and external suppliers to maintain quality standards, minimise production disruption and drive continuous improvement.
You'll also lead and develop the Incoming Materials and QC team while managing supplier performance and incoming quality processes.
Key responsibilities
Lead quality assurance and quality control activities for incoming raw materials and packaging components
Manage and develop the Incoming Materials and QC team
Oversee incoming inspection, sampling, testing and material release activities
Ensure timely release and disposition of materials to support production schedules
Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning and Supplier Quality teams
Manage supplier quality issues, investigations, complaints and corrective actions
Support supplier qualification, approval and ongoing performance monitoring
Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO and regulatory requirements
Lead investigations relating to non-conformances, deviations and OOS results
Maintain robust documentation and data integrity within electronic QMS systems
Monitor and report key quality and supplier performance KPIs
Oversee outsourced testing and external rework activities
Ensure testing equipment is maintained, calibrated and qualified
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency and supplier performance
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Proven leadership experience within Incoming Materials, Quality Control or Supplier Quality
Experience working within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of incoming materials control and supplier quality management
Experience managing quality investigations and corrective actions
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience using Microsoft Office and quality management systems
Desirable
Experience within Cosmetics, Consumer Goods, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare Manufacturing
Knowledge of SAP
Experience working with electronic QMS platforms
Understanding of supplier audits and supplier development activities
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
