Senior Practitioner – Assessment Team

Pay Rate: £40 per hour

Hours: 37 per week

Contract: Locum

About the Role

Staffordshire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join its Assessment Team.

You will work with children and families at the front door of services, undertaking assessments and responding to safeguarding concerns to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will support high-quality practice within the team, manage complex cases, and provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues where required.

Key Responsibilities

Complete Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.

Manage complex safeguarding and assessment cases.

Provide support and guidance to less experienced social workers.

Assess risk and develop effective safety plans.

Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and partner agencies.

Undertake direct work with children and families.

Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.

Maintain accurate and timely case recordings.
