Humly are recruiting for a patient and nurturing SEN Learning Support Assistant to work full-time at a primary school in Penrith from September 2026.

This SEN Learning Support Assistant role involves providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs within a Year 3 classroom. The school needs a reliable and consistent Learning Support Assistant who can build a trusting relationship with the pupil, support their transition into Key Stage 2 and help them stay engaged with classroom learning.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be supporting a Year 3 pupil with:

* 1:1 SEN support within a KS2 classroom

* Helping the pupil access classroom learning and activities

* Supporting routines, focus and emotional regulation

* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement

* Building confidence, independence and trust

* Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider classroom tasks

* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider primary school team

You’ll Be a Good Fit If You…

* Have experience as a SEN Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or classroom support assistant

* Have supported children with additional needs in a school, care, youth work or child-focused setting

* Are calm, patient, nurturing and consistent

* Can provide positive 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 2

* Are confident supporting routines, learning and pupil engagement

* Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff

* Are reliable and able to commit to a full-time Autumn Term role

* Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one

* Are willing to complete Humly’s safeguarding and compliance process before placement
