Pre-Kit Engineer | Precision Engineering | Verwood | Up to £19.00 per Hour
A well-established precision engineering company in Verwood is seeking an experienced Pre-Kit Engineer to join its manufacturing team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This position is ideal for candidates with a background in CNC machining, tooling, or precision engineering who possess a strong understanding of machine tooling, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, gauges, and CNC machine setup processes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production by ensuring all tooling, fixtures, gauges, and consumables are prepared and available for machine setups, helping to maintain efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
Salary & Benefits
* Up to £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)
* Permanent, full-time position
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
* Contributory pension scheme
* Early finish on Fridays
Working Hours
* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
* Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and assemble tooling kits for upcoming CNC machining jobs
* Verify tooling requirements against job sheets, setup documentation, and production schedules
* Maintain tooling inventory and monitor stock levels
* Record tooling movements and updates within ERP/MRP systems
* Inspect tooling, fixtures, and gauges for wear, damage, and serviceability
* Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and 5S initiatives
* Ensure machinists have all required tooling and consumables available prior to machine setup
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience within CNC machining, manufacturing, or precision engineering
* Good knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, gauges, and machine tooling
* Understanding of CNC setup processes and production workflows
* Experience using ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment
