Location: Ayelseford, Kent
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE (including shift allowance)
Contract: Permanent
Shift Pattern: Rotating Early/Late
* 06:00 – 14:00
* 14:00 – 22:00
About the Role:
Our Client is seeking a motivated Junior CNC Machinist to join their growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a basic engineering or CNC background who is looking to develop their skills in a supportive and progressive environment.
Working alongside experienced machinists, you will gain hands‑on experience setting, operating, and eventually programming CNC lathes and mills, producing high‑quality precision components.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
* Load and run CNC programs, making basic offsets and adjustments
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Measure and inspect components to ensure accuracy and quality
* Ensure all work meets required quality and safety standards
* Carry out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
* Work collaboratively with the wider workshop team
About You:
* Some experience or training in CNC machining, ideally with a focus on turning
* Basic understanding of CNC controls (Fanuc knowledge desirable but not essential)
* Ability to read technical drawings
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
* Engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or relevant hands‑on experience
