Projects Manager (Housing Related Support)
Overview
Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Projects Manager for housing-related support services supporting vulnerable individuals aged 16 and over in Bridgend. This role oversees service delivery, staff performance, and quality outcomes, working closely with Social Services and Housing. You will manage projects including step-down accommodation, assessment and related service areas, with leadership across the team in Bridgend.
Hours & On Call
* 35 hours per week, flexible to meet the needs of the service
Key Responsibilities
* Provide reactionary support, advice and guidance to colleagues through supervision and reflective practice
* Support effective safeguarding and risk management, including safety planning and appropriate escalation
* Manage sickness, annual leave approvals, and return-to-work processes for line-managed colleagues
* Ensure colleagues attend team meetings and reflective practice sessions
* Confirm training completion and ensure new starters complete organisational induction
* Ensure accurate case records and returns are submitted to HR, Payroll, Monitoring and Evaluation
Service Delivery:
* Monitor service performance against project action plans and funding requirements
* Manage and oversee team caseloads and referrals, including assessment allocations via the Locata Gateway
* Ensure safeguarding concerns are acted on swiftly, including MARAC and MAPPA processes
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies
* Complete regular file and case management audits across service areas for consistent, high-quality support
Finance:
* Ensure authorised spend remains within budget, liaising with the area manager
* Support the timely submission of petty cash systems, travel expenses and spend approvals
* Contribute to funder monitoring returns, ensuring they are checked and submitted on time
* Support income maximisation through appropriate “money guidance” (not advice)
External Liaison:
* Attend partnership and commissioner meetings as agreed
* Represent the service at local subgroups and strengthen awareness of service provision in Bridgend
Requirements
* Experience in line management in a support environment
* Track record of managing teams supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental health, offending, substance misuse, childhood trauma, and being care-experienced
* Knowledge of housing and homelessness issues, including needs relating to vulnerable women and domestic abuse
* Strong risk management and safety planning experience
* Experience with psychologically and trauma-informed practice
* Computer skills, including MS Word, Teams, Outlook, and case management systems
* Driving licence and access to a car
Education (Desirable)
* Educated to Diploma level or equivalent (QCF Level 2 or 3)
