Psychology Graduate - Teaching Assistant
Location: Reading
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time (term-time only), Fixed-term / Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join our school in Reading as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students within the classroom environment. This role is ideal for a recent graduate considering a future career in teaching, education, or educational psychology.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to help students access the curriculum, build confidence in Psychology, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students during maths lessons, both one-to-one and in small groups
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Helping students understand mathematical concepts and complete set work
Providing additional support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties
Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour
Preparing learning materials and supporting differentiated activities
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staffRequirements:
A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject)
A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essentialWhat We Offer:
