Must be able to attend a Trades Test onsite in Glasgow
Shift Pattern:
Days: Monday-Thursday, 07:00-16:30
Nights: Monday-Thursday, 20:30-06:00
Weekends: Friday-Sunday, 07:00-19:30
Requirements:
Modern Apprenticeship or Trade Papers must be provided upon application.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to join a skilled engineering and manufacturing environment where you'll contribute to the fabrication and installation of high-quality pipework systems. Working on complex, large-scale projects, you'll play a key role in ensuring systems are built to precise standards while maintaining safety and quality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and install pipework systems, including large and small-bore pipework using materials such as copper, cu-ni, carbon steel, and stainless steel
Use a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes
Install onboard utilities including sinks, showers, and toilets
Install and assemble fittings, valves, and associated components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
Collaborate with other trades to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule
Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
Maintain accurate records of all work completed
Core Skills & Experience
Completion of a Modern Apprenticeship or possession of Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification)
Proven experience in pipe manufacture and installation on large-scale or industrial projects
Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, methods, and safe working practices
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, pipework diagrams, and technical specifications
Understanding of SHE, COSHH, and risk assessment requirements, with a consistent safety-first approach
Previous experience working as a Pipefitter (or similar trade) within industrial or commercial environments
The Team
You'll be part of a highly skilled pipefitting team responsible for delivering essential pipework systems within a major shipbuilding environment on the Clyde. The team combines precision, craftsmanship, and strong safety practices to deliver reliable, high-quality work on complex engineering projects.
This is a hands-on environment where pride in workmanship and attention to detail are highly valued.
