Mechanical Engineer | Maritime & Defence | Security Clearance | Full product life cycle

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on innovative, high-performance products. This role offers the opportunity to be involved across the full product life cycle, from concept through to testing and production support.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and structures. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust engineering solutions that meet both technical and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical design and development activities in line with internal quality standards and processes
  • Contribute to the improvement and optimisation of existing products
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Assist in estimating project costs and timelines
  • Support the build and testing of prototypes and new equipment
  • Implement design updates and engineering changes as required
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across engineering and production teams
  • Undertake occasional UK travel when required

About You

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and technical documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and comfortable working with databases
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of an organisation
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive and flexible approach to work

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
