Structures & Pavements Site Technician
Location: Leicester & Huddersfield (UK travel and occasional overnight stays required)

About the Role
We are seeking a Structures & Pavements Site Technician to carry out inspections, surveys, testing, and investigations on highways, bridges, pavements, and associated infrastructure assets. Working within a specialist team, you will collect technical data, undertake testing activities, and support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

*

Undertake site inspections, investigations, surveys, and testing of highways, pavements, bridges, and structures.

*

Carry out specialist testing in accordance with industry standards, client specifications, and project requirements.

*

Operate and maintain testing and surveying equipment safely and effectively.

*

Collect, record, and manage site data and samples accurately.

*

Complete site records, test sheets, and electronic documentation to required standards.

*

Follow all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, permits, and method statements.

*

Report hazards, incidents, quality concerns, and near misses promptly.

*

Ensure equipment is calibrated, maintained, and fit for purpose.

*

Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

*

Support project planning, coordination, and efficient site operations.

*

Provide technical information and site handovers to project teams.

*

Represent the company professionally and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

*

Experience within construction materials testing, highways, structures, geotechnical, or civil engineering sectors.

*

Understanding of site-based testing, inspections, or surveying activities.

*

CSCS Card.

*

Full UK Driving Licence.

*

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

*

Willingness to travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays.

Desirable

*

Experience on National Highways, local authority, rail, aviation, or major infrastructure projects.

*

LANTRA, NHSS, NRSWA, IPAF, PASMA, First Aid, or similar industry qualifications.

*

Experience using specialist testing, surveying, or inspection equipment.
