We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join supportive and ambitious secondary school in Gillingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEND staff, you will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop confidence and make positive progress throughout their secondary education.
Key Responsibilities
Support students in lessons across a range of subjects.
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and improve outcomes.
Assist teachers in preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
Support students with additional learning needs, including SEND and SEMH requirements.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in line with the school's behaviour policy.
Build strong relationships with students, staff and parents to promote student success.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.
A positive, patient and proactive approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build rapport with students and motivate them to succeed.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
