Sub Agent – Civil Engineering
Location: East London
Start Date: August 2026
Contract: Freelance / Contract Opportunity
Morgan Sindall is currently seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a major infrastructure project in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-assurance environment on a complex civil engineering scheme, taking responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of key work packages.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of civil engineering works from planning through to completion.
* Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
* Monitor programme performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
* Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.
* Support commercial teams with change management, cost control, and reporting.
* Mentor and support engineers and junior members of the project team.
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project management teams.
Essential Experience
Candidates should have proven experience delivering civil engineering projects, including:
* Drainage
* Utility diversions
* Piling
* Reinforced concrete (RC) foundations
* Structural steel frame construction
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Sub Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
* Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor is highly desirable.
* Rail, aviation, or other high-assurance project experience preferred.
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple work fronts.
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts.
* Valid CSCS card and relevant site management qualifications.
