Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Ascot area (SL5) to appoint a passionate and nurturing EYFS Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative school community and play a key role in shaping children’s early learning experiences.
This role would suit an enthusiastic and creative teacher with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, who is committed to supporting children’s development through high-quality, play-based learning.
The Role
As an EYFS Teacher, you will support young learners in their early development, helping them build strong foundations across all areas of learning. You will create a stimulating, safe, and engaging environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate EYFS lessons in line with the EYFS framework
Support children’s progress across prime and specific areas of learning
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes wellbeing and positive behaviour
Observe, assess, and track pupil development, using observations to inform next steps in learning
Support children with a range of abilities, including those with additional needs
Encourage early language development, social skills, and independence
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider Early Years team
Create an engaging indoor and outdoor learning environment
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable
Experience teaching within EYFS or Early Years settings
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills appropriate for early years
Engaging, flexible, and nurturing teaching style
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work full-time in the Ascot area (SL5) from September
Desirable
Previous experience teaching Reception or Nursery
Experience using observations and assessment to inform planning
Knowledge of phonics schemes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
Experience supporting children with SEN in early years
Commitment to inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning
Understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements within EYFS
