Exciting new opportunity to work for a leading principal contractor to work out of their brand new regional business unit in Merseyside.
Due to the opening of a North West business unit of a national main contractor with a turnover of c.£300 million, there is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to make a real impact to a growing region that are a multi-disciplinary contractor specialising in both private and public sector construction projects. Typical project values range between £1m - £20m on both single & two stage tenders.
Responsibilities for Senior Estimator
You will play a key role in supporting the pre construction development of successful tenders, working collaboratively within a supportive team environment, contributing to the growth of the region whilst building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants.
Preparing and estimating costs for tenders, identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise profit
Leading and mentoring junior staff members & promoting best practice and collaborative working
Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing whilst maintaining quality standards
Collaborating with design, planning, commercial, and bid management teams throughout the tender process
Supporting the handover of projects to delivery teams & ensuring smooth transition and clear communication
Experience required for Senior Estimator
Proven working experience with a Tier 1 or 2 Main Contractor
Academically qualified in construction / quantity surveying to HND/ BSc level or equivalent
Proficient in Excel, estimating software, and take-off tools
You can demonstrate leadership experience within a preconstruction team
You have supported and developed junior team members, helping them to grow their skills
You bring a conscientious, detail-oriented approach to your work and enjoy problem-solving
Salary & Package on offer
Salary between £70,000 - £90,000 dependent on level & length of experience.
