£365 per day umbrella rate
£85 daily allowance (when staying away from home)

Contract dates - October 2026 - April 2027
An Earthworks Examiner is required to join a team carrying out Earthwork exams across Network Rail infrastructure. As an Earthworks Examiner you will be required to visit earthwork locations along the railway in order to carry out compliant examinations using a handheld device (Electronic data base collection system). While initially required to work within your local rail territory, you may eventually radiate outwards staying on location.
As well as holding a degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related descpline, an ideal candidate will have a history of working on the railways and will hold a valid PTS (preferred but no essential). The ability to work alone and efficiently is a critical component of this role, as well as a driving licence. The desired candidate must have sound knowledge of slope stability and failure points, as well as a can do attitude and be able to work proactively.
