Mobile Electrical Engineer – Inside M25, London Commercial FM Mobile / Van-Based Permanent
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established facilities management provider operating across a diverse portfolio of commercial office buildings and retail spaces throughout London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mobile Electrical Engineer to join a team known for delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance services across the capital.
The Role
The Mobile Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a portfolio of commercial sites inside the M25. Acting as the primary technical representative on site, the Mobile Electrical Engineer will diagnose faults and ensure maximum uptime and compliance across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct scheduled maintenance on commercial electrical systems, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and single/three-phase distribution boards
Service and maintain plant rooms including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, and basic plumbing systems
Respond to reactive call-outs with a strong focus on first-time fix rates
Escort specialist sub-contractors, manage compliance logging, and produce risk assessments and method statements
Update maintenance records and capture photographic evidence using handheld PDA/CAFM systems
Requirements
To be considered for this Mobile Electrical Engineer position, you will need:
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (2330 / 2357 / 2360) or Mechanical Engineering – essential
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) – essential
2391 Test & Inspection certification – essential
Minimum 2–3 years' experience in field-based commercial building maintenance
Familiarity with SFG20 maintenance standards and safe isolation procedures
Full, clean UK driving licence
