Our client is a highly respected, independently owned Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK.
With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth across multiple offices, they are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer with 4–5 years' consultancy experience to join their established and collaborative design team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer seeking greater project responsibility, exposure to diverse and technically challenging schemes, and a clear pathway towards Senior Engineer level and Chartership.
The Opportunity
You will be involved in the design and delivery of a broad range of building structures projects spanning commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, residential, leisure and mixed-use developments.
Working closely with Directors and Chartered Engineers, you will take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, developing practical and cost-effective design solutions while building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Structural design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber structures.
Production of design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
Managing project packages and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams.
Liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors and developers.
Undertaking structural inspections, surveys and technical assessments.
Reviewing drawings and ensuring compliance with current regulations and design standards.
Supporting graduate and junior engineers within the team.
Contributing to project delivery, programme management and client satisfaction.
Working collaboratively within BIM and 3D modelling environments.
About You
Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng).
Approximately 4–5 years' experience within a UK consultancy environment.
Strong experience designing building structures across a variety of sectors.
Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, MasterSeries, Robot or similar.
Experience using AutoCAD and exposure to Revit/BIM workflows.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage workload effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
Progress towards IStructE or ICE Chartership would be highly desirable.
