Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Bestwood Village School, Bestwood Village, Nottingham NG6 8TL
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday 8.15am – 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday 8.15am – 4.00pm
Salary: £39,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role
As a Teacher, you will plan and deliver high-quality, tailored learning to meet the individual needs of students, often working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis. You will create a safe, supportive and stimulating environment that promotes academic progress, positive behaviour and personal development, while working closely with colleagues and families to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach.
Key responsibilities:
Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and policies, tracking and reporting on student progress
Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and personalised learning programmes
Create an engaging classroom environment, organising resources and groupings to support effective learning
Lead on agreed subjects or areas, coordinating teaching, assessment and reporting across key stages
Work effectively with support staff, ensuring they are well briefed and able to provide high-quality support
Manage and support behaviour positively, helping students develop independence and self-regulation
Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team, maintaining clear communication with colleagues, care staff and families
Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and all statutory and school policies are consistently followed, while maintaining accurate records and professional standards
What you will bring:
UK QTS
Experience working with students with autism spectrum conditions and/or those displaying challenging behaviour
Experience within an educational setting
Confidence in planning, delivering and teaching engaging lessons
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Accuracy and attention to detail when recording and maintaining information
