We are seeking a hands-on, driven Operations Manager to lead and develop multiple departments including Production, Shop Floor, Design, and Quality. This role is focused on optimising manufacturing and fabrication processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and driving operational excellence.
The successful Operations Manager will bring strong experience in managing teams through growth, introducing new machinery and technology, and improving efficiency across production environments.
This is a highly practical role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing setting and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to support the team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production Management
Oversee daily operations across production, shop floor, design, and quality departments
Ensure efficient workflow, resource allocation, and production scheduling
Drive improvements in manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve output
Monitor KPIs related to production performance, quality, and deliveryContinuous Improvement & Innovation
The Operations Manager will need to lead continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, process optimisation, etc.)
Identify opportunities to enhance productivity through new ideas, process redesign, and best practices
Support and manage the introduction of new machinery, technology, and automation
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Manage, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams
Grow and scale teams in line with business requirementsQuality & Compliance
Work closely with Quality to ensure all products meet required standards
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and industry standardsHands-On Operational Support
The Operations Manager will act as a key point of support on the shop floor when needed
Lead by example with a “hands-on” and proactive approach
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement quick, effective solutions
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Operations Management role
The Operations Manager will have a strong background in engineering or fabrication
Proven experience managing multiple departments in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated success in implementing new machinery or technology
Experience driving continuous improvement and operational change
Strong leadership and people management skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Hands-on, practical approach with strong problem-solving capability
