Job Description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Rugby. This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be passionate about English Language and Literature, with the ability to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that support students in developing strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
Teach both English Language and English Literature
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Maintain strong classroom management in line with school policies
Contribute to the wider English department and school community
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in English or a related subject
Experience teaching English at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge across Language and Literature
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
