We are recruiting a Freelance Logistics Manager to manage and coordinate all site logistics activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of labour, materials, plant, and equipment to support the successful delivery of a high-end residential development.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the project logistics strategy and site logistics plan.
* Manage site access, delivery schedules, traffic management, and material movements.
* Coordinate cranes, hoists, loading bays, storage areas, and waste management operations.
* Ensure high standards of housekeeping, safety, and environmental compliance across the site.
* Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, local authorities, and neighbouring stakeholders.
* Manage logistics personnel, including supervisors, traffic marshals, and logistics operatives.
* Monitor logistics performance, identify efficiencies, and support programme delivery.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and logistics documentation.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Logistics Manager role on large-scale residential or mixed-use construction projects.
* Strong understanding of construction logistics, sequencing, and site operations.
* Excellent planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and CDM requirements.
Qualifications
* SMSTS
* CSCS Manager Card
* First Aid at Work (desirable)
* Relevant logistics, lifting operations, or traffic management qualifications (desirable)
