Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Compliance Officer.

Be part of the movement - and play your part.

About the role

This role plays a key part in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of terminal activities. Working closely with Compliance, Health & Safety, Operations, Training, and Performance teams, the successful candidate will support continuous improvement initiatives, drive regulatory compliance, promote a strong safety culture, and identify opportunities to enhance operational and environmental performance across the business.

You will be responsible for

• Monitoring terminal operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, conducting regular SAFELeader Walks and Drives and addressing any non-compliance issues.

• Reviewing operational and performance reports, track equipment inspections, and work with relevant departments to implement corrective actions and improve operational efficiency.

• Collaborating with Health & Safety, Claims, and Training teams to promote safe working practices, reduce incidents, ensure staff competency, and support a positive safety culture.

• Investigating operational issues, including Dangerous Goods compliance and terminal performance concerns, identifying root causes and implementing practical solutions with key stakeholders.

• Supporting continuous improvement and project initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities, monitoring environmental performance, coordinating compliance reporting, and assisting with the delivery of operational improvement projects.

About you

We're looking for a proactive, hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys being visible on the terminal. You will have experience working within operations, a good understanding of safety, compliance, and operational best practices, and hold (or be working towards) an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification. A WAMITAB qualification, or willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous.

You will be confident engaging with colleagues at all levels, able to challenge constructively while providing support and guidance to drive positive outcomes. Organised and solutions-focused, you'll be comfortable using data to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement improvements. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach are essential, along with a passion for continuous improvement and promoting a strong safety culture.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
