Job Title: Transport Administrator (PART TIME)
Responsible To: Operations Department
Hours: Monday – Friday – 10:00 – 14:00 (20 hours per week)
Location: Sheepbridge, Chesterfield
Salary: £13,700 per annum
Role Purpose:
To deal effectively and efficiently with all aspects of Transport Administration, managing the day-to-day operations of transportation within a company, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods, people, or vehicles. This role involves coordination, logistics, compliance, and customer service.
Key Tasks:
* Plan, coordinate, scheduling transportation routes for vehicles, booking slots for deliveries, using various IT systems.
* Checking & Authorising invoices.
* Maintaining our EPOD system, ensuring hauliers are in compliance with the correct processes.
* Assisting the transport department with day-to-day tasks.
* Ensuring driver paperwork is up to date and issued correctly.
* Liaise with suppliers and sales team regarding transportation requirements and schedules.
* Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other departments to resolve transportation issues or delays.
* Provide excellent customer service by responding to queries related to delivery times, schedules, or complaints.
* Troubleshoot problems and find quick resolutions to avoid disruption in transportation.
* Prepare regular reports on transportation metrics such as delivery times, costs, and efficiency.
Candidate Profile:
* Experience: Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field is highly beneficial.
* Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and suppliers.
* Organisational Skills: Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify problems and find practical solutions.
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with transportation management software and systems.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to handle detailed documentation and compliance requirements
