Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Culham, Abingdon - 3 days per week on site
Contract: 8 month contract
Pay Rate: £55/hr Umbrella
Are you an experienced Electrical/C&I Engineer looking for your next challenge? You will be responsible for delivering design work on major sub-systems, from concept through detailed design, and contributing to cutting-edge enhancement programmes and future fusion devices.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a technically advanced, high-integrity environment, working on some of the most innovative engineering systems in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead and support design work on systems, including repair, replacement, or upgrade activities.
·Develop and implement design requirement management systems and ensure compliance across teams.
·Validate detailed designs, working with technicians, analysts, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to standards.
·Deliver projects within customer constraints, producing technical reports, departmental notes, and procedures.
·Generate technical documentation, including electrical drawings, BOMs, and cable schedules, applying value engineering and design-for-manufacture principles.
·Maintain strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Requirements
·Electrical/C&I engineering experience within complex, safety-critical environments.
·Relevant degree, HND/HNC, or Level 4/5 apprenticeship with experience.
·Knowledge of UK/EU electrical safety regulations and machinery safety principles (BS EN (phone number removed).
·Hands-on experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD packages for electrical documentation.
·Understanding of functional safety and process safety principles desirable.
·Knowledge of electrical enclosures, control panels, manufacturing techniques, and engineering materials.
·Strong communication, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
