Are you a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer looking to get involved with one of the UK's most prestigious nuclear organisations? This is a rare opportunity to work on technically challenging and strategically important projects that will have a real impact on the nuclear sector.

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Cumbria (2/3 days per week on-site)
Contract: 12 Months
Pay Rate: £53-£60 per hour Inside IR35 (based on experience)
·Work on some of the largest and most complex nuclear decommissioning programmes in the UK.
·Lead and influence engineering decisions as a technical authority.
·Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a regulated, safety-critical environment.
·Shape the future of UK nuclear facilities through technical expertise, design oversight, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
·Provide expert technical support within your specialty area, ensuring project deadlines are met.
·Make informed engineering decisions from both technical and project management perspectives.
·Act as technical lead or authority for mechanical engineering aspects when required.
·Assess and manage all changes within the project scope.
·Ensure compliance with engineering procedures, codes, and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
·Produce, review, and approve technical documents, calculations, analyses, drawings, and models.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
·Degree in Mechanical or relevant engineering discipline.
·Experience working on heavily regulated sites with multidisciplinary teams.
·Proven ability to manage engineering scopes and deliver complex projects.
·Experience covering a wide range of mechanical engineering tasks across multiple complexities.
·Chartered Engineer status preferred.
·Active UK security clearance required.
