Waking Night Project Worker

Location: St Albans
Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week)
Salary: £25,122/£13.42 per hour

We are looking for a reliable and committed Waking Night Project Worker to join our team at Martin House, supporting adults who have experienced homelessness. This is a vital overnight role where you will provide a calm, compassionate presence while ensuring the service remains safe, secure and welcoming for everyone.

You will support residents in a way that builds confidence and independence, respects individual choices, and helps people feel included and valued. Working closely with colleagues, you will contribute to a supportive team culture and respond calmly to situations as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overnight support to residents, promoting safety, wellbeing and independence
Offer reassurance, guidance and emotional support with empathy and respect
Respond confidently and calmly to incidents, emergencies or crises
Communicate effectively in ways that meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, inclusive environment
Administer medication where required
Maintain accurate records and report concerns promptly
Ensure the safety and security of the building throughout the nightYou will bring strong communication skills, a flexible and positive approach, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. Experience is helpful but not essential - we are looking for people who are caring, collaborative and motivated to make a real difference.
