Supplier Quality Engineer

Brentwood, Essex £35,000 - £45,000 + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced engineer with a background in aerospace, manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry? Do you have strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and supply chain compliance? Our client, a leading global distributor serving the aerospace sector, is looking to recruit a SQE to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in compliance, continuous improvement, and supplier performance management across an international supply chain.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring external partners consistently meet aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. You will work closely with both internal teams and suppliers to drive improvements, manage performance, and maintain compliance throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and improve supplier performance in line with AS9100 and AS9120 requirements
Support approval, qualification, monitoring, and development activities across the supply base
Conduct audits, process assessments, and risk evaluations
Investigate non-conformances and lead corrective and preventive action activities (CAPA)
Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve technical and compliance issues
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, delivery, and efficiency
Maintain records and documentation to support customer, regulatory, and internal audits
Analyse performance data and identify opportunities for improvement

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience within Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Compliance, Assurance, or a similar function within a regulated environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer, Supplier Development Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar
Strong understanding of AS9100 and/or AS9120 standards
Experience conducting audits and managing corrective actions
Knowledge of aerospace regulations and industry requirements
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamPlease note: Sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without current or future sponsorship requirements.
