SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rainham, London Borough of Havering
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rainham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs and make a real difference to their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties) on a 1:1 or small group basis
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping pupils to regulate and engage positively
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
Experience working with children with SEN (school or alternative setting preferred)
A patient, caring, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow guidance from teachers and SENCOs
Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
