TBOS Healthcare Solutions Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, national not-for-profit organisation providing mental health, substance use and social support services across England. Our client supports thousands of people every year — helping individuals facing challenges around mental health, alcohol, drugs, gambling and related issues to live safer, healthier and more independent lives. With a strong reputation across the sector and a genuine commitment to recovery, this is an organisation where you can make a real and lasting difference in your community.

About the Role

We are seeking a Substance Use Support Worker to join a recovery-focused substance use service supporting adults aged 18 and over in the Bradford area. This role is centred around helping people affected by alcohol and drug use to regain independence, confidence and stability during difficult periods in their lives. Working as part of a rota-based team, you will provide compassionate, person-centred support while helping individuals work towards their personal recovery goals.

What You'll Do

* Support individuals affected by alcohol and drug use within a safe and recovery-focused environment.

* Help people maintain their independence and develop practical life skills.

* Work collaboratively with individuals to create and follow personalised support and recovery plans.

* Encourage and support access to education, employment, leisure and community opportunities.

* Assist with developing domestic, budgeting and tenancy-management skills.

* Build positive and professional relationships with people using the service.

* Work both independently and as part of a wider support team.

* Participate in a rota system, including evenings, weekends and on-call duties where required.

* Contribute to a supportive, respectful and empowering environment for recovery.

What We Are Looking For

* Caring, compassionate and empathetic individuals who genuinely enjoy helping others.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all backgrounds.

* Someone who thrives under pressure and can remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.

* Flexible team players who can also work independently when needed.

* A positive and recovery-focused mindset.

* Enthusiasm for supporting people to live as independently as possible.

* An understanding of substance use issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed, although full training will be provided.

* Commitment to working within a rota system, including flexibility for shift work and on-call duties.

What We Offer

* 27 days' annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays)

* Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%

* Life assurance (3x annual salary)

* Enhanced sick pay and family-friendly pay

* Birthday leave and the option to buy up to 5 extra days' annual leave

* Professional fee reimbursement for relevant qualifications

* 24/7 online GP access and Employee Assistance Programme

* Recognition and long service awards

* £500 Recommend a Friend bonus

* Cycle to Work scheme and Credit Union membership

* Discounts via Blue Light Card, charity discounts and other retail and leisure schemes

* Free will writing service and wellbeing initiatives throughout the year

Inclusion & Accessibility

Our client is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and a Disability Confident employer, welcoming applications from all backgrounds and communities — especially those with lived experience of the issues the service supports.
