Contract/Project
What if your next job was about helping someone with autism or a learning disability get their first paid job, build confidence, and gain independence? This charity is launching a pioneering employment programme designed to create opportunities for people who often face barriers when looking for work. You'll support a small group of learners on their journey towards employment, helping them identify their strengths, explore career options and take meaningful steps towards a more independent future.

This isn't a desk-based role. You'll be out in the community, meeting learners in places where they feel comfortable, building relationships with local employers and creating opportunities that can genuinely change lives.

The programme is currently funded for an initial 12-month period, with a strong possibility of a further two-year extension if successful.

What will you be doing? You'll support a caseload of 10 learners over a 12-month period. Your first priority will be helping recruit the remaining learners onto the programme before supporting them towards employment and independence.

This could involve:

Getting to know learners and understanding their strengths, interests and ambitions
Delivering employability and confidence-building sessions
Helping people identify realistic career goals and next steps
Working closely with parents, carers and support networks
Building relationships with local employers and creating employment opportunities
Supporting learners in the workplace through job coaching
Assisting with travel training and workplace routines
Acting as a bridge between employers and learners to ensure successful outcomesNo two days will be the same. One morning you might be meeting a learner at a local college, while the afternoon could involve visiting an employer or supporting someone during their first few weeks in a new role.

Who are we looking for? The charity is open-minded about background and experience.

You might currently work as a:

Recruitment Consultant
Careers Advisor
Employment Coach
Support Worker
Teaching Assistant
Learning Support Assistant
Youth Worker
Equally, you could be a recent graduate looking to start a career where you can make a genuine difference.

What's most important is your ability to build relationships, encourage people, communicate confidently and help others achieve their goals.

The Details
Salary: £27,600 - £29,500 depending on experience
Location: Newtown / Welshpool
Community-based role with no fixed office
Mileage paid at 55p per mile for travel between appointments

Opportunity to be part of a pioneering programme making a real impact in the local communityIf you're looking for a role where you can see the direct impact of your work and help people achieve things they never thought possible, we'd love to hear from you.
