The Role

As a General Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), ensuring students remain engaged and on task during teacher absences.

Responsibilities

Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of secondary school subjects.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Ensure students complete the work set and remain focused throughout lessons.
Adapt confidently to different school settings and classroom environments.
Provide feedback to the relevant department or teaching staff following lessons.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching or working with secondary-aged students.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Flexibility and confidence to cover a range of subjects.
A professional, proactive, and reliable approach.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
