We are seeking an experienced Social Value Manager to lead, develop and deliver social value commitments across a portfolio of roofing, refurbishment, planned maintenance and construction projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, operational teams, local authorities, housing associations, schools, charities and community groups to ensure social value obligations are achieved and exceeded. The role will be responsible for creating meaningful community impact while supporting the business in securing and retaining framework and contract opportunities.
This is a highly visible role requiring excellent stakeholder engagement skills, strong organisational ability and a genuine passion for delivering positive outcomes within local communities.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the delivery of social value initiatives across all projects.
•Develop project-specific social value plans and strategies.
•Ensure contractual social value commitments are achieved and reported.
•Build relationships with housing associations, local authorities and framework providers.
•Engage with schools, colleges and training providers to create employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
•Coordinate work experience placements, apprenticeships and employment initiatives.
•Develop partnerships with local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations.
•Organise community engagement events and educational programmes.
•Monitor, record and report social value outcomes using client reporting platforms.
•Support bid and pre-construction teams with social value responses and tender submissions.
•Produce case studies, success stories and impact reports.
•Work with operational teams to identify project-specific social value opportunities.
•Ensure compliance with client and framework social value requirements.
•Track KPIs and deliver regular performance reports.
•Promote ESG and sustainability initiatives throughout the business.
•Identify opportunities to improve social value performance across contracts.
Essential Experience:
•Previous experience in a Social Value, Community Engagement, CSR or ESG role.
•Experience working within construction, social housing, refurbishment or facilities management sectors.
•Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
•Experience managing social value reporting and KPIs.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
•Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience:
•Experience working with housing associations and local authorities.
•Knowledge of the Social Value Act and public sector procurement.
•Experience supporting framework contracts.
•Understanding of employment, training and apprenticeship initiatives.
•Experience using social value measurement and reporting platforms.
•Knowledge of sustainability and ESG principles.
