Automated Door Engineer

Hull Area | UK-Wide Travel | Full-Time, Permanent | £43,000 per annum

Our client is a leading specialist engineering and manufacturing business supplying bespoke door solutions to some of the world's largest pharmaceutical, healthcare, food manufacturing, cleanroom, and retail organisations. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Automated Door Engineer to join their expanding installation and service team.

The Role

Working as part of a two-person team, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic and manual door systems across customer sites throughout the UK.

The position is based in the Hull area and involves regular travel and overnight stays during the week. Occasional weekend work will also be required depending on project and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic and manual door systems.

Commissioning and configuration of automated door equipment.

Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.

Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance.

Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with industry regulations and safety standards.

Completing service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.

Liaising professionally with customers and site personnel.

Maintaining tools, equipment, and company assets.

Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

Full UK driving licence.

Strong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering skills.

Competent using hand tools and power tools.

Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Willingness to travel and stay away from home regularly.

Desirable

Previous experience working with automatic doors, access systems, or related engineering products.

CSCS Card.

Manual Handling Certificate.

Ability to read technical drawings and schematic diagrams.

Experience working within pharmaceutical, healthcare, food manufacturing, cleanroom, or industrial environments.
