Shift Electrical Technician – West Sussex
£45,000 to £55,000 + benefits | 4 on / 4 off (Days & Nights)
If you’re an electrically biased engineer who enjoys fault finding, keeping plant running and actually fixing problems (not just patching them up) — this one’s worth a look.
This is a busy, hands-on environment where no two shifts are the same.
🔧 The Role
You’ll be part of a shift engineering team responsible for keeping a large-scale automated site running efficiently.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
Reacting to breakdowns and getting systems back online quickly
Carrying out PPMs properly and improving plant reliability
Fault finding across a wide range of electrical systems
Supporting continuous improvement across the siteYou’ll be working on:
Sensors, relays, contactors, AC/DC motors
MCC panels and control systems
PLCs (Siemens S7 ideal, but not essential)
Instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow etc.)It’s proper engineering — not just ticking boxes.
✅ What You’ll Need
Electrical qualification (HNC or equivalent)
Strong fault-finding skills
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, automated or similar environments
Confident reading electrical drawingsPLC knowledge is a bonus, not a must.
⏰ Shift Pattern
4 on / 4 off
2 days (06:30 – 18:30)
2 nights (18:30 – 06:30)
4 days offGood work/life balance with proper downtime between rotations.
