We’re working with a global logistics company who is looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner / Coordinator to join their busy transport operation in Stanford-le-Hope. This is a key role within the planning team, responsible for ensuring the efficient scheduling and movement of goods across the UK and European network.
The role suits someone who enjoys fast-paced planning, problem solving, and working closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate daily transport routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective deliveries and collections
* Monitor vehicle availability and driver schedules to maximise utilisation
* Communicate with drivers, subcontractors, and customers regarding schedules, delays, and updates
* Ensure all loads are compliant with transport regulations and company procedures
* React quickly to operational issues, providing practical solutions to minimise disruption
* Maintain accurate system records, including job updates and delivery statuses
* Support with KPI tracking and performance reporting where required
* Work closely with internal departments such as warehouse and customer service teams
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in transport planning or coordination within a logistics or freight environment
* Good geographical knowledge of the UK (European knowledge beneficial)
* Confident communicator with a professional and practical approach
* Experience using transport management systems (TMS) or similar software
Salary between £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
Stable Monday to Friday working hours (08:00 – 17:00)
