As a teaching assistant in this position, you will support key students with Autism and/or SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs.
About you:
Understand that Autism and neurodivergence affects individuals differently
Have a solid understanding of sensory processing differences, communication needs, and social challenges faced by young people with Autism
You will be observant and able to identify patterns, triggers, strengths, and areas of need in the students you support
You will be able to adjust your approaches to each student you support, according to the child's mood, needs, and circumstance
You will be able to think creatively to overcome barriers to learning
