Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced HVDC Engineer to support the design and engineering activities on a major power transmission project. This is a 12-month contract role, working outside IR35, with a remote working setup.
The successful candidate will support engineering teams across HVDC system design, ensuring technical deliverables are produced to a high standard and aligned with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
*
Support the design and engineering activities associated with HVDC transmission systems.
*
Review and contribute to technical documentation, design packages, and engineering studies.
*
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, control, and system design.
*
Provide technical input into HVDC system architecture, equipment specifications, and interfaces.
*
Support design reviews and technical assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Ensure engineering deliverables align with industry standards, project requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
*
Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to support timely delivery of design outputs.
Requirements
*
Proven experience working as an HVDC Engineer or in a similar role on large-scale power transmission projects.
*
Strong understanding of HVDC systems, converter stations, and high voltage power transmission.
*
Experience supporting engineering design, technical studies, and project documentation.
*
Background in power systems, electrical engineering, or transmission infrastructure.
*
Ability to work effectively within remote and distributed engineering teams.
*
Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
