Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Rate: £600 (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Location: Remote
Clearance: BPSS
Stages: 1 Stage
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity.
- Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot database issues and optimize SQL performance.
- Manage security, user access, and database compliance requirements.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams.
Mandatory Requirements
- Strong experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA).
- Excellent SQL experience (mandatory), including:
- Complex queries
- Query tuning and optimization
- Stored procedures, functions, and packages
- Performance troubleshooting
- Experience with Oracle 12c/19c or later versions.
- Knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery.
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard and database replication.
- Strong understanding of database security and access controls.
- Experience supporting production-critical environments.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on UK Government or HMRC projects.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
- Shell Scripting and automation.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
