A fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled HGV Technician to join a modern commercial vehicle dealership working with some of the industry's leading truck manufacturers.
This role offers excellent earning potential, ongoing manufacturer training, and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of modern HGVs and commercial vehicles.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial vehicles to the highest industry standards.
Working within a professional workshop environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
·Carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
·Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
·Complete all work in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
·Accurately record repairs, inspections, and diagnostic findings.
·Identify additional repair requirements and report findings effectively.
·Prepare vehicles for MOT and safety inspections.
·Attend manufacturer training and keep up to date with emerging vehicle technologies.
·Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
·Promote high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
·NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
·Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
·Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable
·HGV Class 1 Licence.
·Main dealer or manufacturer experience.
·IRTEC accreditation.
·Experience working with Renault, MAN, Isuzu, Volvo, DAF, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, or similar commercial vehicle brands.
