Location: Norwich
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
Reports to: Operations Director
Salary: £35,000
HD Tech are recruiting for a Quality Lead / Quality Inspector to join a busy and growing manufacturing business.
This is a key role for someone with strong quality, compliance and manufacturing experience who can support operational teams in maintaining high standards across materials, processes, documentation and finished products.
The successful candidate will work closely with Team Leaders, Production, Technical and Engineering teams to ensure that quality standards are embedded into day-to-day operations and that the business continues to meet relevant industry and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, including ISO 9001, BS EN standards, PAS 24 certification requirements, CE marking and other applicable quality frameworks.
* Lead the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of quality control procedures across all stages of the manufacturing process.
* Carry out regular inspections and audits of raw materials, production processes and finished products.
* Develop, maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, inspection records and quality reports.
* Ensure non-conforming materials or products are correctly identified, isolated and resolved in line with company procedures.
* Work collaboratively with technical, production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate quality records and produce quality metrics, performance reports and updates for the senior management team.
* Support root-cause analysis activity and drive corrective and preventative actions where required.
Essential skills and experience
* Previous experience in a quality role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
* Strong understanding of quality management systems and ISO standards.
* Knowledge of BS EN standards, PAS 24, CE marking or similar regulated product standards would be highly advantageous.
* Confident carrying out inspections, audits and quality checks across materials, processes and finished goods.
* Experience maintaining quality documentation, SOPs, work instructions and compliance records.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain quality standards and requirements to cross-functional teams.
* Familiarity with Six Sigma, continuous improvement methods and root-cause analysis tools.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
