Create Education is working with a highly regarded specialist school in Barking that supports children and young people aged 4–18 with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, communication needs, and complex learning needs.

Due to increasing demand, the school is looking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants for both full-time positions and flexible cover roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to reach their full potential.

The Role
• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
• Support pupils with Autism, complex learning difficulties, sensory needs, and additional educational needs.
• Help deliver personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Promote independence, confidence, and life skills.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for pupils.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
• Support students with personal care where required.

The Ideal Candidate
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Experience supporting Autism, SLD, PMLD, SEMH, or complex needs would be advantageous.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• Psychology graduates, Education graduates, Support Workers, Care Workers, Youth Workers, and experienced Teaching Assistants are all encouraged to apply.
