SEN Teacher – PMLD
Location: Northolt, West London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A warm, welcoming, and highly supportive SEN school in Northolt is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team for a September 2026 start. The role involves working with primary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) within a caring, nurturing, and well-resourced specialist environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a genuinely friendly school community where relationships are at the heart of everything they do. The school is proud of its inclusive ethos, strong teamwork, and commitment to ensuring both staff and pupils feel valued, supported, and able to thrive. There are also excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development and long-term career progression within the setting.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher working with PMLD pupils, you will:

* Plan and deliver highly individualised, sensory-rich learning experiences tailored to complex needs

* Create engaging, meaningful opportunities for learning that support curiosity, communication, and independence

* Support pupils’ communication, interaction, physical development, and emotional regulation

* Work closely with a skilled team of support staff, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic support

* Use a range of specialist approaches such as sensory learning, intensive interaction, and alternative communication systems (e.g. AAC, PECs, Makaton where appropriate)

* Build and maintain a safe, calm, and nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel secure and ready to learn

* Track and celebrate small steps of progress through EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

* Collaborate closely with colleagues across the school to share ideas, best practice, and ensure consistency of provision

* Develop strong, positive relationships with families and carers, working in partnership to support each child’s journey

What We’re Looking For

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

* Experience working within SEN, ideally with PMLD or pupils with complex needs

* A strong understanding of personalised, child-centred and sensory-based learning approaches

* A calm, patient, nurturing, and empathetic teaching style

* Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills

* A reflective practitioner who is open to learning and professional development

* A genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for all pupils

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

What the School Offers

* A genuinely friendly, welcoming, and inclusive school community

* A strong emphasis on staff wellbeing, teamwork, and mutual support

* Ongoing CPD and access to specialist SEN training opportunities

* Clear and supported progression pathways for career development

* A well-resourced environment designed to meet the needs of pupils with complex learning difficulties

* A positive culture where staff are trusted, valued, and encouraged to grow professionally

* A leadership team that is approachable, supportive, and committed to developing their staff

This is a truly rewarding opportunity for a passionate SEN teacher who is looking to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs. You will be joining a school where every achievement is celebrated, no matter how small, and where staff work together to create a safe, joyful, and meaningful learning experience for every child.

If you are a dedicated and compassionate teacher looking to take the next step in your SEN career, we would be delighted to hear from you
