Business Development Manager
Northwest & Northeast England (Field-Based)
Salary: £43,000 - £55,000 + Quarterly Bonus (£10,000 OTE) + Company Car + Excellent Benefits
An established international healthcare and vision care organisation is seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to drive sustainable growth across a territory covering the Northwest and Northeast of England.
With a long-standing reputation for innovation, quality, and customer excellence, the organisation continues to expand its UK presence and is looking to appoint a motivated sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships while delivering strong commercial results.
The Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer accounts, and increasing market share across the assigned territory.
This is a highly autonomous field-based role, with approximately 4.5 days per week spent visiting customers and half a day dedicated to administration, planning, and CRM management. While the standard working week is Monday to Friday, occasional weekend attendance may be required to support regional events and exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across the territory
Growing and retaining existing customer accounts through proactive relationship management
Building, managing, and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline
Delivering territory sales growth in line with business objectives
Developing trusted partnerships with independent practices and key stakeholders
Utilising CRM systems to plan activity, manage opportunities, and track performance
Conducting regular customer visits, presentations, and business reviews
Attending regional events, exhibitions, and industry meetings as required
Working collaboratively with internal teams to maximise customer satisfaction and commercial successCandidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, resilient, and commercially focused sales professional with a proven ability to win and grow business.

Full UK driving licence
Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the Northwest and Northeast of EnglandDesirable Experience
Experience within the optical, healthcare, medical device, vision care, or related sectors
Previous experience using Salesforce CRMIndustry experience within optical or vision care would be advantageous; however, candidates with a strong business development background from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
