Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Science teacher with a passion for inspiring young people to explore and understand the world around them? My client is a successful coeducational secondary school located in Upper Norwood, committed to providing a high-quality education within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

They are seeking an ambitious and passionate Teacher of Science to join their successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute to a department that is committed to delivering engaging and challenging science education.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons that engage, challenge, and inspire students.
Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach a specialist science at Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified candidates.
Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment that supports excellent progress and achievement.
Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing effective feedback and targeted support where required.
Using a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the Science curriculum.
Promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.
Supporting the school's commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching Science at secondary level.
Possess strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science.
Demonstrate the ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Be committed to achieving high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
Have a strong understanding of assessment practices and data-driven improvement strategies.
Be a collaborative team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
