Location: Duncrue
Hours : Mon - Thur 8am - 5pm; Fri 8am -1pm (3 months assignment)
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a busy Property Maintenance team delivering both planned and reactive maintenance works across a diverse portfolio of properties throughout Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to secure a long-term role within a professional and supportive environment where quality workmanship, customer service, and health and safety are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out a wide range of painting and decorating works to a high standard.
Prepare surfaces for decoration, including filling, sanding, stripping, wallpaper removal, and minor repairs.
Apply paints, varnishes, stains, emulsions, gloss finishes, and specialist decorative coatings.
Hang wallpaper and decorative wall coverings in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Mix and match paints and finishes to required standards.
Protect surrounding areas, fixtures, and furnishings before commencing work.
Diagnose and rectify issues such as flaking, blistering, cracking, and damaged finishes.
Read and work from drawings, specifications, schedules, and work orders.
Complete planned maintenance and responsive repair works.
Order and collect materials as required.
Maintain accurate job records and time sheets.
Safely erect and dismantle access equipment and work at height when required.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience within the construction, maintenance, or building industry carrying out painting and decorating works.
Proven experience in the preparation and application of paints, finishes, decorative products, and wall coverings.
Full UK Driving Licence or access to suitable transport.
Strong knowledge of painting and decorating techniques and materials.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
3+ years' painting and decorating experience.
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent).
Experience within property maintenance, social housing, commercial, or public sector environments.
Experience working from maintenance schedules and technical specifications.
Basic IT skills for recording work and updating job information.
